The Evergreen Bluegrass Festival

Evergreen Bluegrass Festival is a family-friendly acoustic celebration. Enjoy music, local artists, food and beverages in the beautiful foothills of Evergreen. Tom Hushen, an invaluable member of the Evergreen community who passed in 2014, was the visionary behind the Festival. Tom was an avid volunteer (honored as Volunteer of the Year by the Evergreen Chamber), amazing husband, father and friend. Tom's vision for a new family-friendly music festival is now in it's second year.

TomThomas Charles Hushen June 3, 1943 - October 2, 2014 Tom Hushen ~ loving husband, gracious father, fun grandfather and benevolent person. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and met his wife, Ann, at college. Tom was a respected IT professional for major corporations, including Eastern Airlines, American Airlines and Ameritrade. When the Hushens moved to Evergreen, Tom became a very active local philanthropist and transitioned into real estate and working within the community. Helping others was a passion for him, whether it was organizing fundraising events, assisting clients as they were navigating through contracts, building and managing website for nonprofits, forming friendships everywhere he went, and making sure his grandchildren had a constant supply of ice cream and s'mores. Tom had a vision for the Evergreen Bluegrass Festival and chose to share it with "his girls", who now make up the EBF Committee. He loved the idea of bringing Bluegrass to Evergreen and making this Festival an annual event that would give back to the community in many ways. Tom was a joy to work with, always a smile, always a warm greeting, always a sparkle in his eye. His is greatly missed by "his girls" and the Evergreen community at large.
